At one time, ex-Velvet John Cale and former Banshee Siouxsie Sioux would have been on opposite sides of the punk-new wave fence. But an intriguing tour featuring Cale and the Creatures, with Siouxsie and old friend Budgie, hits the Roxy ballroom Sunday for an 18-plus, 8 p.m. show. Cale and the Creatures will play sets together and separately.

Siouxsie pulled the plug on the long-running Banshees in 1996.

"Musically, we feel like we've gotten rid of a lot of baggage," she said. "The Creatures is no longer something the record company releases while waiting for the main project."

Siouxsie and Budgie formed their own label, Sioux Records, to release the third Creatures album, "Animas Animus."
